The till integration is still being rolled out. Lightspeed K-Series is currently the only compatible till, and several set-up steps are still done together with the Badger team.
Two things, and only two
The Lightspeed integration does two things:
A sale that is cashed out gives the points on its own. Nobody has to press a button after payment.
A Badger window opens inside your till. Your employee sees the customer's balance there, and can give them a reward.
Points at the moment of payment
When a sale is closed and paid in Lightspeed, Lightspeed tells Badger, and Badger credits the points.
The sale must be closed, not cancelled and actually paid. An open order, or a zero-franc sale, gives nothing.
The customer must have been identified on that sale from the Badger window, before payment. A sale with no identified customer is an ordinary sale: it gives no points.
The calculation is based on the amount of the lines that count, discounts deducted, tips excluded. 10 points per franc, rounded down once on the total.
The time recorded is the time the sale was closed in Lightspeed, not the time Badger processed it.
By default, all your items give points. There is nothing to set up to get started.
What the Badger window shows at the till
Once the customer has been scanned or found, your employee sees:
their name, their points balance, their number of visits and the number of rewards already taken at your business;
their points history at your business;
a list of your regulars, before scanning anything at all;
a search by phone number, e-mail or name. The match has to be exact: the start of a number is not enough.
From this window, your employee can also give a reward and correct a balance by hand.
What the integration does not do
It does not follow your menu continuously. Badger loads your menu from Lightspeed when you set up your rules, but an item added to Lightspeed later only appears once the menu is reloaded.
It does not give points during the sale. Points arrive at payment, never before: until the sale is paid, the balance shown is the one from before.
It does not replace the scan. If the customer is not identified on the sale, Lightspeed has nothing to send to Badger.
